TVB 3DTV Tech Alert: Panasonic 152-inch Plasma
LAS VEGAS: Panasonic continued its tradition of rolling out
massive TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show. The company unveiled a 152-incher
at CES last week, this one with 4096x2160 resolution for full hi-def, 3D
display.
Panasonic said the plasma display has new “super-efficient, quadruple luminous
efficiency technology” and “ultra high-speed 3D drive technology” that achieves
sharp 3D display of fast-moving images. It also features crosstalk reduction
and frame-at-a-time driving for producing clearer 3D images.
Panasonic said it “successfully developed a unique technology to minimize
double-image that occurs when left- and right-eye images are switched
alternately. The development has resulted in the 3D compatible plasma display
that can render clear and smooth high-quality pictures by accurately
reproducing video sources.”
Sony rolled out a 103-inch HD 3D plasma in 2008, and a 50-incher last
September.
