TV Vendor Snapshot: Even Steven
Public companies serving the TV industry this week have recovered from last week’s market slide predicated by the further failing financial sector. Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) showed the biggest week-over-week improvement, having dipped last Wednesday to around $78 after issuing lower-than-expected guidance for fiscal 2Q09. The Cupertino, Calif. company subsequently reported record profits of $1.61 billion on likewise record revenues of $10.2 billion for the quarter ending Dec. 27, 2008. Shares quickly rebounded to around $90.
