TBS Goes HD This Fall
Turner Broadcasting System will be launching “TBS in HD” this fall on September 1st. The service will be a 1080i simulcast of TBS’ East Coast feed and will be carried only by DirecTV at first as part of the satellite broadcaster’s HD expansion. Turner is also presently in carriage talks with other affiliates.

TBS in HD will offer comedy in high-definition, adding to the lineup of sports and drama available on TNT HD. TBS will also offer HD sports such as its exclusive coverage of Major League Baseball’s divisional playoffs and the National League Championship Series.
