Snell & Wilcox Receives IABM Award
For the third time, Snell & Wilcox was presented with the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) Peter Wayne Award at IBC.

The award was for the "Design and Innovation of the MXF Express" developer toolset and MXF Desktop file player.

MXF Express helps broadcasters and equipment vendors ensure interoperability file sharing-products and systems. Components include Ingest Station, a compression mastering system, Mosalina, an automated MPEG quality control software program and MediaX a PCI-based hardware accelerator engine.

MXF Desktop enables Windows Media Player to play MXF files and allows WAV, MPEG and DV formats to be wrapped "as essence" into an MXF file.

In previous years, Snell & Wilcox also won the Peter Wayne award--named after a format deputy chairman of IABM--for its MVA 100 video analyzer for MPEG and another for its Archangel real-time film and video restoration system.
