Quantum introduces SuperLoader 3A

Quantum unveiled its SuperLoader 3A autoloader and announced the availability of the SDLT 600A professional video drive in Amsterdam at IBC2006.

For broadcasters and video professionals dealing primarily with HD programming and digital content, Quantum's SDLT 600A and SuperLoader 3A feature a tape-based file system, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and MXF-aware capabilities. The scaleable archive solutions offer 300GB to 4.8TB of removable networked storage.

Leveraging the SDLT 600A tape drive technology, Quantum designed the SuperLoader 3A for workflows with larger storage requirements. For example, regional news bureaus can use this solution to create a localized archive where content can be easily managed, quickly accessed and readily exchanged between locations.

The SuperLoader 3A can support one or two magazines, which can each hold eight data cartridges, for up to 4.8TB of storage in a 2U rackmount form factor.
