Planar Preps Debut of 70-inch LCD Monitor
Planar Systems, a display specialist in Beaverton, Ore., is getting ready to roll out a 70-inch direct-view, commercial-grade LCD monitor, the m70L.

Planar says the m70L has built-in power management and automation, a 178-degree viewing angle and “broad video source” compatibility. Other features include resistance to image quality degradation and automatic ambient backlight control to support 24-hour operation. The unit is said to have full 1080p resolution, 600 nits of brightness and HD-SDI connectivity.

Planar’s Control Room & Signage business unit, formerly Clarity Visual Systems, will debut the new monitor at Integrated Systems Europe 2008 in Amsterdam later this month, and make it available to dealers in February. It will sport a suggested retail price of $30,000.
