Net Insight introduces switched Nimbra 340-HD

Net Insight debuted the Nimbra 340-HD switched multi-service access system for live HD broadcasts, studio production and contribution at IBC2005.

Housed in a 2RU device, the uncompressed transport solution can be deployed in any network topology supporting both the U.S. and European versions of HD-SDI.

Nimbra 340-HD allows broadcasters to distribute uncompressed HD in a wide range of content services, from live HD broadcasting of sports and stadium events to pre-taped studio production and contribution.

Nimbra 340-HD supports point to multi-point distribution of video, data and voice in a flexible, topology independent manner with guaranteed QoS. It combines fixed Gigabit Ethernet and HD-SDI ports with optional plug-in units for services, such as PDH, SDI, or ASI.
