Live MLB Webcasts Get Assist from NewTek TriCaster Studio
Fox Sports and Major League Baseball have enlisted technology from NewTek to do live webcasts of the pre- and post-game shows for the World Series and for the American League Championship Series.
The NewTek TriCaster Studio portable live production suite will be put to work on the streamed half-hour programs.
Clark Pierce, vice president of Graphics & Special Projects for Fox Sports said the Tricaster allowed the producers extend series coverage to the web “with a broadcast lookand feel.”
NewTek, based in San Antonio, Texas, makes video and 3D animation equipment. The Tricaster Studio allows a single operator to switch between as many as six camers with two VCRs, multichannel FX and NewTek virtual sets and keying technology.
