Lifetime Entertainment Selects Omneon Spectrum
Lifetime Entertainment Services has selected Omneon Networks’ Spectrum media server systems to support tapeless SD ingest and playout of four channels at its new 50,000-square-foot facility in Manhattan.

Going with the Spectrum allows Lifetime to upgrade as it grows, without creating problems for its existing service. Lifetime Entertainment Services includes the Lifetime Television and LMN networks, as well as a significant online presence. The new Lifetime facility includes nine active editing rooms, five master control pods and four quality control rooms.

Three Spectrums make up the core of the on-air SD environment. For additional redundancy, Lifetime plays all its content down three hours prior to airtime, allowing plenty of time to fix problems.
