JDSU launches SimulSource IP Video Generation Application

JDSU has introduced the SimulSource IP Video Generation Application, a software tool for its DTS-330 digital and IP video test instrument.

SimulSource helps network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) verify equipment for IPTV and other triple-play service deployment by identifying problems and troubleshooting issues or improving performance before it is shipped.

It also supports network operators in their research and development labs by stress testing equipment, such as IP transport equipment, edges devices, routers, switchers and IP multicasters.

SimulSource generates hundreds of IP video test streams typically involved in a network carrying IP video services, allowing NEMs to verify and stress test equipment using many types of encapsulation and signal layer analysis (MPEG, upper and lower layer protocol) for a full view of the equipment's performance.
