Italy’s RAI Transmits 4K TV
TURIN, ITALY: Italian broadcaster RAI conducted an experimental transmission using 4K resolution technology, according to an item in DVD Intelligence. RAI said the achievement was the first broadcast that fully reproduced the quality for 35mm film. The 4K format is around four times sharper than high-definition broadcasts.

The telecast was conducted last week at the Prix Italia 2009 annual festival of radio, TV and the Internet.

“Italian RAI carries out 35mm-quality 4K HDTV broadcast transmission” is at DVD Intelligence.
