IEEE to Host Las Vegas Symposium on Mobile Video
The IEEE Broadcast Technology Society is hosting an International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems, April 6 and 7 at the Las Vegas Hilton. This is a new industry-oriented event initiated by the rapid development of mobile video technology and portable video devices.

"Mobile and Handheld Systems for Entertainment on the Go" is the conference theme. Multiple sessions are planned, covering a range of topics including spectrum and coverage planning; field experiences; consumer platforms; audio and video coding; receiver RF design; and system and service planning.

The symposium is expected to attract content originators and distributors, wireless service providers, as well as technology developers and equipment suppliers. More than 50 technical presentations from industry leaders are scheduled during the two-day event.
