HTN Communications (formerly Hughes Television Network) deployed a network to transport sports telecasts using a Net Insight Nimbra platform. Starting with the 2007-08 National Hockey League and National Basketball Association seasons, the initial phase will cover approximately 10 venues with a continued rollout to other pro sports venues throughout the season. The platform will increase bandwidth and the service offering at the venues, including multiple high- and standard-definition video backhaul capabilities.
 
The Nimbra platform transports HD-SDI streams alongside SDI, MPEG (ASI and IP), audio (AES-EBU and E1) and Ethernet data traffic over a common network.
