Grass Valley to exhibit MPEG-4 transrater, splicer

At IBC2006, Grass Valley will launch the NetProcessor 9040 transrater and splicer for HD MPEG-4 content.

The latest product in the Grass Valley NetProcessor line, the NetProcessor 9040 is a network adaptor bridging ASI transport streams, legacy ATM circuits and IP delivery over a Gigabit Ethernet topology. Combined with the Grass Valley NetRater DSP processing engine, the NetProcessor 9040 creates a complete solution for delivery of broadcast and IP streaming services.

The NetProcessor 9040 adaptor delivers benefits to digital terrestrial TV network operators through its frame-accurate splicing, local branding and logo and message insertion capabilities. For cable networks, telcos and satellite operators, the device offers remote statistical multiplexing, transrating and splicing capabilities. It also offers multiplexing and remultiplexing, scrambling and the ability to deliver streamed IP services.
