Front Porch Digital Extends DIVArchive Integration With Avid Unity Systems
Front Porch Digital (FPD), the broadcast and media division of Incentra Solutions, announced that it has completed integration of DIVArchive with Avid Unity systems via the Avid TransferManger 2.9.1 intelligent media file-transport application. Licenses for these integrations are reviewed and granted on an individual basis by Avid Technology.
Front Porch currently has deployed four successful DIVArchive installations with Avid licenses throughout Europe and Asia. A fifth Avid license has been approved for a DIVArchive installation for a broadcaster in Asia and is planned for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year.
“By successfully integrating DIVArchive with Avid Unity via the TransferManager DHM API, Front Porch Digital offers a valuable option to Avid Unity customers seeking to extend their environment with an established archival solution,” said David Schleifer, Vice President of Avid Broadcast and Workgroups Product Marketing. “As a licensee under the Avid Unity Workgroups API program, we value the efforts Front Porch Digital has made to provide TransferManager 2.9.1 enhancements to our mutual customers.”
Editors and managers in global broadcast facilities can gain important new capabilities and efficiencies through Front Porch’s DIVArchive system. Leveraging the capability of DIVArchive, Front Porch customers with the TransferManager API license are able to move content seamlessly between Avid Unity storage to and from any standard tape library system. Also, the DIVArchive integration with Avid Unity can be scaled to meet expanding customer needs. Multiple DIVArchive and Avid TransferManager servers can be added when workflow demands increased bandwidth and redundancy. The DIVArchive system, through its unique MetaSource functionality, will aggregate these TransferManager “pipes,” providing aggregate bandwidth and multiple data paths to serve parallel requests.
“Our initial deployments of DIVArchive with Avid Unity integration received very positive reviews from licensed customers, and they all plan to upgrade to TransferManager 2.9.1,” said Front Porch President Mike Knaisch. “We will continue to invest heavily to meet the needs of our customers using Avid Unity, not only in the realm of development, but also in support for DIVArchive and the Avid Unity interfaces we’ve delivered.”
Front Porch provides required support for each of its Avid-integrated DIVArchive customers through its fully staffed, 24/7 network operations center in Broomfield, Colo., augmented by its 24/7 international support desk in Toulouse, France. Front Porch also maintains a support and maintenance agreement with Avid as further support for situations that may require the involvement of Avid Unity support engineers
