DirecTV Offers 21 New HD Channels
DirecTV began to make good on its promised offering of 100 HD channels by recently making available 21 new high-def services, boosting its total to 31 HD networks.

The new HD channels include high-def offerings from A&E Network, Animal Planet, CNN, Discovery Channel, The History Channel, NFL Network, Showtime West, Sho Too, Smithsonian Channel, Starz, Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, Starz Kids & Family, TBS, The Movie Channel, The Science Channel, TLC, Versus, The Golf Channel, and The Weather Channel

DirecTV is planning to launch an additional satellite next year that will allow it to increase its HD package to a full complement of 150 HD channels.
