Commissioner Martin Tapped By Bush as Next Chairman of the FCC
Kevin Martin, a Republican commission member since 2001, is considered to be a free-market advocate who will reach out to the two deocrats on the Commission as they deal with wireless, Internet, and DTV issues.

The White House will now have to fill Martin's seat on the Republican majority, five-member Commission and possibly also a slot to be left by the likely departure of Republican Kathleen Abernathy.
