Carroll to discuss ATSC loudness management at NAB2008

Tim Carroll, founder of Linear Acoustic, will present "Non-Destructive Automatic Loudness Management," during the Surround Broadcast Conference at NAB2008 in Las Vegas.

The presentation, scheduled for April 16 at 11:45 a.m. in Room N239/241 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will examine loudness control through existing ATSC audio-side chain metadata.

Carroll will outline loudness management problems currently facing broadcasters and explore strategies and trade-offs in implementing a variety of different automatic loudness management schemes.
