Analysts Predict Improved TV Revenues in Q4
NEW YORK:: Oppenheimer analysts see good news for TV
stations. Researchers there say revenues are likely to rise in the current
quarter, according to Benzinga.com.
The broadcast scatter market also appears to be selling out at higher rates
than the upfronts this year, which occurred in the wake of two huge automaker
According to Oppenheimer, News Corp.’s Fox stations are likely to grow compared
to an expectation of a 10 percent decline. Trends are expected to improve
through 2010. Fox stations are also expected to get higher scatter rates on
double-digit ratings growth.
Overall, the analysts raised their TV earnings-before-interest-and-tax
estimates for Fox O&Os by $29 million for the companies fiscal second
quarter, and by 40 percent for fiscal 2010.
