WEBE to host 2Ghz Tech Fair June 28

The Association of Washington Executive Broadcast Engineers (WEBE) will host a technology seminar and trade show for the 2GHz relocation project on June 28, 2005 at the Marriott Crystal City, Arlington, VA.

The event will feature technical seminars focused on understanding COFDM transmission, a panel discussion on selecting equipment and vendors, and a presentation on how the transition will affect the broadcast station in areas such as IFB. A short briefing on ENG safety will also be presented.

Broadcasters will have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of manufacturers and vendors in the trade show area. This is an excellent chance to view the wide variety of radios, control systems, and service providers that are participating in the 2Ghz relocation project.

The event is aimed at engineering executives and managers who are implementing the 2GHz BAS relocation at their stations. The timing of the event coincides with the completion of the inventory phase of the project. This is when the broadcaster will begin to select replacement equipment to enable digital transmission and reception in the new 2Ghz BAS band-plan.

There is no charge to attend the Tech Fair, and all costs are being underwritten through the generosity of our sponsors and exhibitors. WEBE warmly welcomes it's friends and colleagues from other markets in the Mid-Atlantic region to attend this exciting event.

WEBE is an association of engineering executives and managers in the Washington, DC market. It supervises frequency coordination for the DC area, as well as facilitating and coordinating large events and market-wide engineering initiatives.
