SMPTE Seeking Papers for Fall Confab

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) is seeking proposals for technical papers and tutorials for the 2009 SMPTE Technical Conference & Exhibition being held in October in Hollywood.

Proposed papers must be informational in nature and must address technical theory, application, or practice associated with technologies relevant to the Motion Imaging Industry. Topics include digital cinema exhibition, wide bandwidth infrastructure, animation, and more.

Interested parties need to submit a one-page abstract (no more than 300 words) including topic heading, paper title, delivery method (presentation, video clip, demonstration), a brief description of the proposed paper's content, name of author/presenter, company, mailing address, telephone numbers, and e-mail address. The deadline is June 12, and authors will be notified of the status of their papers no later than July 17. Previously published, product-specific, or promotional papers will not be considered.
