WASHINGTON: The NAB Television Board of Directors this week elevated Meredith Corp. President Paul Karpowicz chairman. His nomination was unanimously approved by the board. He takes over for Jim Yager, CEO of Barrington Broadcasting Co. Lynn Beall, executive vice president at Gannett Broadcasting, became first vice chair. Second vice chair went to David Barrett, CEO of the Hearst-Argyle TV group. Doug Kranwinkle, executive vice president of Univision Communications, assumed the network executive seat on the NAB Executive Board.
Bonneville International’s Bruce Reese is stepping down from the joint board chairmanship but will remain chair of the search committee charged with finding the association a new president/CEO. The board formally designated Janet McGregor as acting CEO of the NAB.
