NAB Preps For NY Post Conference

New York-based video professionals who want a taste of the annual NAB convention but can't make the trip to Las Vegas, NV, may find the new NAB Post+ Production Show appetizing. A joint production of the National Association of Broadcasters and Future Media Concepts, the conference will run Nov. 14-17 and the show floor will be open Nov. 15-17 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

"This is not NAB East," noted Wayne Crawford, NAB vice president of sales for conventions and expositions. NAB Post+ is a much more narrowly defined show, focused on production and post production. Also, unlike the international appeal of NAB's annual convention in Las Vegas, NAB Post+ is setting its sights on a much more regional turnout.

The show floor has already confirmed close to 75 exhibitors, and organizers expect to attract more before the show opens in November.

According to Ben Kozuch, president and co-founder of FMC, said the conference will feature nine tracks with more than 120 sessions. The program will explore a number of specific software tools from Adobe, Apple, and Avid, as well as production techniques, DVD authoring, and other issues. He said the conference sessions will be designed for intermediate and advanced users, not beginners.
