Monmouth Park Race Track TV Facility Chooses QuStream's PESA Cheetah 128 And DRS Routers

The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority has opted to install QuStream's PESA Cheetah 128 and DRS routers in the Monmouth Park Race Track television facility in Oceanport, New Jersey. The installation is part of a big technical upgrade being done by systems integrator SPL to prepare for coverage of the Breeder’s Cup World Championships, which are being held at the park in October.

"The purchase decision was based on very successful experience of PESA routers in earlier projects," comments Felix Robinson, vice president/general manager New York Region, SPL Integrated Solutions. "Both routers are full 128 square systems. QuStream's Cheetah 128 was chosen for its proven reliability and very logical operation. Its combination of redundant power supply, SNMP compliance and hot-pluggable modularity make it ideal for live coverage of sports events.”

SPL chose the Cheetah for its redundant power supply, SNMP compliance and hot-pluggable modularity--qualities that make it attractive for live sports coverage. The Viewport diagnostics system also had a hand in the decision. Viewport allows detailed monitoring of each card in the frame with a Windows-based display interface.

The DRS—which stands for Distributed Routing System—provides easy adjustment of gain, left-right summing and swapping of AES pair breakaway.
