Latens, Agama Partner to Ensure Content Protection, Service Assurance Interoperability for IPTV Operators

Agama Technologies, a provider of products and services enabling high quality digital distribution of media over IP networks, and Latens Systems, provider of software based content & revenue protection systems, have worked together to demonstrate that both conditional access security and service assurance can be achieved in live IPTV deployment.

The successful deployment of commercial IPTV services requires both good security and the ability to monitor quality levels. Latens and Agama have worked together at a joint customer to demonstrate interoperability between Latens IP CAS and the Agama IPTV Monitoring solution.

"By enabling the co-existence of conditional access and monitoring for IPTV operators, we provide operators with the tools necessary for high-quality services," says Andy Mathieson, Director, Latens. "This is an important part of our program for pre-integration with other technology vendors, to eliminate the costs and risks of IPTV delivery."

"Providing a TV service with high quality and premium content are competitive necessities in today’s marketplace. Service assurance is needed to achieve confidence in delivered quality," says Mikael Dahlgren, Managing Director at Agama. "By integrating the Latens CAS and the Agama IPTV Monitoring solution, operators benefit from end-to-end monitoring of the complete IPTV service, including encrypted content."
