Iowa Public TV To Host DTV Symposium

Iowa Public Television will host the 10th Annual DTV Symposium, which kicks off Oct. 5 in Des Moines. More than 325 people from the DTV content, production and technology fields are expected to attend.

John Lawson, president and CEO of the Association of Public Television Stations will keynote the conference, focusing on the digital transition and how DTV can be delivered in new ways to local communities.

Other speakers include Maryann Baldwin, executive director of Magid Media Futures who will present the latest findings from Frank N. Magid Associates such as the demographics of VOD users and how DVRs are having an impact on television viewing.
President of TV Predictions.com and onHD.TV Phillip Swan will talk at about the possibility of a tipping point in HDTV sales. What kids learn by playing video games will be the topic for Games2train and the Digital Multiplier CEO Mark Prensky. Bill Megalos of MegaloMedia will talk about digital video and personal filmmaking.
