IEEE BTS Broadcast Symposium Oct. 14-16

Proceedings at the IEEE’s 59th annual Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) Broadcast Symposium are set to get under way next Wednesday (Oct. 14) at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria, Va.

The event begins with full day of tutorial presentations on the latest developments in the field of digital television and radio broadcasting. Topics include measurement methodologies and a new implementation of the Longley-Rice propagation model.

Keynote speakers at this year’s Symposium include Jules Cohen, veteran Washington broadcast consultant, and Dr. Andrew W. Clegg, ESMU program director at the National Science Foundation.

Also on the program are a number of panel discussions on DTV implementation, and television antenna designs, as well as papers on digital transmission interference issues and other post-transition topics.

The three-day event also includes a joint BTS and Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCCE) luncheon on Thursday, a Wednesday evening welcoming reception, and an awards luncheon on Friday.
