IEEE Broadcast Symposium Scheduled for October

ALEXANDRIA, VA.: The 59th Annual IEEE Broadcast Symposium is set for Oct. 14-16 at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria, Va. This year’s session cover a new implementation of Longley-Rice, emission-mask compliance measurement, TV antennas and DTV implementation issues. Speakers and panelists include Michel Proulx of Miranda, Jim Kutzner of PBS, Matt Goldman of Tandberg Television, Dielectric’s Kerry Cozad, and several more industry experts.

Merrill Weiss, for example, will cover the mathematics of mechanical beam tilt in a special technical session on broadcast antenna technology. Nat Ostroff of Acrodyne will talk about maximizing DTV coverage with equalized digital on-channel repeaters. Stephen Martin of the FCC will give a presentation on the RF performance of DTV converter boxes.
