Gannett, McGraw-Hill Declare Dividends

McLEAN, VA. and NEW YORK: McGraw-Hill and Gannett both declared quarterly dividends today. The board of McGraw-Hill (NYSE: MHP) approved a 22.5 cent dividend payable on Dec. 10 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 25. Gannett’s (NYSE: GCI) board approved a 4 cent dividend payable Jan. 4 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 11.

McGraw-Hill reported third-quarter results on Monday. Consolidated revenues for all divisions was $1.9 billion, down 8 percent from a year ago. Net income was $336 million, down 14 percent. MHP has paid a dividends since 1937.

Gannett reported consolidated 3Q revenues of $1.34 billion, down 18 percent from a year ago but exceeding the company’s forecast of $1.32 billion. Net income was $73.8 million versus $158.1 million for 3Q08. The company declared 4 cent dividends in April and July as well.
