DNF Controls Adds Highlight List Playout for Sony's DSR-DR1000

DNF Controls announced the release of its enhanced ST304-DSR1K Slow Motion Controller, now with highlight list playout. With this new functionality, the ST304 and Sony DSR-DR1000 combination provides a powerful yet simple, cost-effective production package that rivals higher-cost systems. The ST304-DSR1K Slow Motion Controller allows Sony DSR-DR1000 users to quickly and easily build, edit, and playout up to 10 highlight lists—with up to 20 elements each—per playback channel.

"Speed is everything in the world of live sports production, and we've added the highlight list feature to our ST304 controller to give Sony DSR-DR1000 users more flexibility in preparing exciting segments within a very short time frame," said Dan Fogel, DNF Controls' president. "With this new functionality, the ST304 helps broadcasters and other production professionals bring the best of sports action to fans quickly and accurately."

The ST304-DSR1K provides precise, easy, reliable, and affordable VTR-like control of Sony's DSR-DR1000 DVCAM hard-disk recorder, giving users the ability to create, save, and quickly recall clips for instant replays. The controller takes advantage of Sony's hard-disk technology for instant access and simultaneous record and playback functionality. This pairing allows operators to mark cue points on the fly and play back video instantly, even as recording continues.

DNF Controls' ST304-DSR1K-T supports two record and two playback channels, provides a T-bar for fast, smooth slow-motion instant replays, and features single-keystroke cue marking for access to up to 100 cue points per playback channel.
