Broadcast Pix Ships System No. 600 to Texas Rangers

Broadcast Pix, the Billerica, Mass., switcher maker shipped its 600th unit, this one to the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. The Rangers Ballpark video production team will use the Broadcast Pix Slate live video production system to broadcast replays during home baseball games on large video monitors in the ballpark.

Broadcast Pix’s stock in trade is combining the functions of production control into a single workstation. The Slate 2100 integrates multiview monitoring, character generation, clip store, and aspect ratio management into one chassis. Chuck Morgan, vice president of entertainment and special events for the Texas Rangers said the system would allow the production team to “perform multiple functions” in a “less hectic manner.”

Broadcast Pix systems are employed by CBS, NBC, ESPN, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, General Motors, schools, municipalities and churches.
