ATSC to Host One-Day ACAP Seminar

ATSC will hold a seminar on implementing the Advanced Common Application Platform (ACAP) on Dec.7 in Washington, D.C.

Presenters will provide content creators, broadcasters, cable service providers, satellite operators with technical details about using ACAP, which allows for advanced interactive services in the ATSC bitstream.

Craig Smithpeters--iTV systems engineer for Cox Communications--has been involved in ACAP development for three years and will kick off the seminar. Following Smithpeters is a presentation about the relationship between ACAP, OCAP and MHP by Jon Piesing of Phillips. Discussing ACAP on an international level will be Gun Bang of ETRI, who will talk about the implementation status of the platform in Korea.

The one-day seminar will take place at the Radisson Barcelo Hotel in Washington, D.C. Both members and non-members may attend, for $400 and $475, respectively.
