Adelstein and Tate Face Off at NAB2008

At least one FCC commissioner from each side of the political fence will make it to NAB this year. Democrat Jonathan Adelstein and Republican Deborah Taylor Tate will take up current issues at the event’s annual Regulatory Face-off.

Adelstein, who’s pet causes include localism and public interest obligations for DTV stations, has sat on the commission for nearly six year. He was previously a senior legislative aide to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), and is familiar with Evan’s Plunge and Flintstone Village.

Tate, who hails from Nashville, joined the commission in 2006, immediately setting to work on issues such as the link between childhood obesity and television, as well as supporting Chairman Kevin Martin’s effort to crack down on indecency.
