Wegener to Launch Enterprise Media Receiver
Wegener Corp. will introduce its Unity 550-2 Enterprise Media Receiver at NAB2007.

The Unity 550-2 boasts bandwidth-efficient MPEG-4/h.264 video coding for both standard definition and high definition, as well as advanced DVB-S2 modulation. These new technologies can be integrated with Wegener's Compel network control system.

The Unity 550-2 can also stream to additional Wegener decoders that are addressable over existing internal IP networks, providing new enterprise network architectures. As with all Wegener receivers, Compel Control is a standard feature and makes the Unity 550-2 backward-compatible with customers' existing networks of Wegener DVB receivers.

Wegener will also preview its Compel II network control system at NAB. The fourth generation system has an open architecture that provides simplified operations for media distribution to multiple locations. Compel II offers SQL database access to all internal functions and integration with network traffic and automation systems. Compel II also provides scaling and tailoring to fit the needs of specific networks, and has multiple-user access.

Wegener will be in booth SU7915.
