Vizrt Supplying Free Hi-Res Maps of Gaza and DC
Vizrt has announced that it is providing high-resolution maps of Washington, D.C., and Gaza to television broadcasters at no charge.

The maps are being distributed through Vizrt’s partner, Digital Globe, and can be downloaded and used to generate animated graphics for newscasts.

The company reported that within 24 hours of its announcement of the free graphics, more than 50 stations had downloaded the Washington, D.C., artwork and more than 100 had taken advantage of the Gaza map. These images were selected due to recent interest in both stemming from the U.S. presidential inaugural activities and the continuing escalation of hostilities in Gaza.

“The response from TV stations to this free offer was quick and massive,” said Francois Laborie, executive vice president of marketing at Vizrt. “We’re pleased to support the efforts of our broadcast customers to offer their viewers very detailed, informative coverage of these historically significant news events.”

The free graphics can be found at www.digitalglobe.com.
