Seachange Extends On-Demand TV to Live Network Programming
SeaChange's Recording System is targeting cable operators to more quickly make news, sports and live events part of the VOD experience. An extension of the SeaChange VOD System, it captures selected broadcast programs and prepares them for on-demand viewing with fast-forward, pause and rewind functionality.

Comcast initially is recording select Philadelphia Flyers hockey games and NBC News programming to add to the on-demand library that features movies, subscription VOD and free programming. Comcast also delivers on-demand newscasts from WCAU-TV.

Comcast has deployed it in the Philadelphia area, the fourth-largest U.S. TV market, and other U.S. cable operators are planning to roll out SeaChange VOD to encode live TV in real time.
