Ross Video Announces Server Software Upgrade
Ross Video has introduced a new software package for its 1000 and 3000 series of SoftMetal Video Server products. The SoftMetal Version 4.2 is available free of charge for system users and now provides support for Sony BVW-75 and Odetics protocol for remote device control, and allows the Ross MediaManager to import, export, rename or delete media items for the server.

“We continue to enhance ongoing and new functionality to the SoftMetal product line through Software upgrades,” said Todd Robinson, Ross Video’s server product manager for software. “We encourage all SoftMetal customers to take advantage of this free upgrade which is readily available on our Ross Video Web site.”

The Ross Video SoftMetal line of servers supports multi-definition video for both television station production and master control applications.
