Prime Image Develops 'Time Alteration' Device
Prime Image Inc. is now offering a new product designed to reduce program run time while maintaining audio and video integrity.

The Prime Image Time Tailor works with both standard- and high-definition programming, is automatic in operation and can create up to an eight percent time reduction in a typical 20 to 30 minute show. It is claimed to remove redundant frames in such a way as to be undetectable in operation.

One of the users of the new tool, Hollywood's Performance Post, is an early implementer of the technology.

"Prime Image did a great job with this system and it delivers as promised in terms of the final look," said John McCarroll, vice president Performance Post. "Top-tier engineering staff from the networks have seen what we do with it, and their reaction is very favorable."

Time Tailor preserves closed captioning text, as well as any pre-formatted commercial black slugs.
