Panasonic Honored for AG-HVX200 Design
Panasonic Broadcast's AG-HVX200 high-definition, handheld camcorder has received a bronze in the 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award competition for the best designed product in business and industry. The IDEAs are in their 26th year; the awards recognize well-designed products that enhance quality of life and the economy.

The HVX200 was commended for its compact, portable design; multiple high-definition and standard-definition formats; and workflow-enhancing P2 technology. The DVCPRO HD format offers users intraframe compression, where each frame stands on its own for editing, and its full 4:2:2 color sampling allows the image to hold up under color correction. The HVX200 can capture fast or slow action in 720p at various frame rates. The shooting frame rate in 720p native mode can be set for any of 11 steps between 12 and 60 fps, including 24 and 30 fps.

The HVX200 DVCPRO HD camcorder was among six Panasonic products honored with an IDEA for exceptional design. The event was co-sponsored by Industrial Designers Society of America and BusinessWeek Magazine. The awards were featured in BusinessWeek Magazine on July 10 and online.
