Panasonic Expands Product Line With New Switcher
Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems has announced the introduction of a new multiformat SDI live switcher product for SD and HD applications. The AV-HS400 is designed for either mobile or studio production applications and has tally outputs for up to eight cameras.

The switcher incorporates a built-in MultiViewer preview system, which can send up to 10 different images to a single high-resolution display, eliminating the need for multiple monitors or outboard video muxing equipment.

The AV-HS400 accepts 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 480/59.94i and 576/50i signals and can perform up-conversion with the addition of optional cards.

The new unit includes an LCD display for viewing setup information and also an Ethernet connection to allow the device to be connected to a PC. It features GPI and RS-422 control port, and a built-in switchable 10-bit frame synchronizer for each input.

The AV-HS400 is expected to start shipping in December.
