Panasonic AJ-SD965 Studio VTR Now Shipping
Panasonic is now shipping the AJ-SD965, a DVCPRO50 studio VTR.

The 4 RU AJ-SD965 provides two hours of recording in 4:2:2 on its DVCPRO50 XL cassette. Also, the VTR is paired with the Panasonic AJ-SDX900 dual-mode DVCPRO Cinema camcorders.

Users can playback recordings from DVCPRO, DVCPRO50, DVCam and other DV formats. The AJ-SD965 also comes with an optional IEEE-1394 digital interface board and can integrate 50 Mbps digital component video into NLE systems. Other features include frame-accurate editing, UMID data recording and playback and independent four-channel audio control.

Additionally, Panasonic is now bundling its AG-DVX100A MiniDV camcorder with the Serious Magic DV Rack software application. The bundle will be called the Serious Production Package and will be available in February. The DV Rack manufactured by the Folsom, Calif.-based company includes video components, "virtual rack" that is designed to emulate video gear and includes a professional field monitor, DVR and camera setup module.
