Optinel Claims Transmitter Can Deliver over 100 HD Channels
Optinel Systems, a manufacturer of transport equipment for the cable industry, has released the DSTX-9150-HD transmitter, which it says will allow cable operators to transport over 100 HD channels on a single line card, for HDTV applications.

The transmitter is compatible with Optinel's PLEXiS MFX system, whose multiformat capability can also carry standard broadcasts, VOD, high-speed data and voice. The PLEXiS MFX has CWDM and DWDM on the same chassis and supports 60,000 video streams per fiber over distances greater than 300 miles.
