Omneon to Showcase MediaDeck GX at IBC2009
Omneon MediaDeck GX

Omneon will mark the European debut of its new MediaDeck GX complete play-out system at IBC 2009.

MediaDeck GX combines video server play-out, graphics and advanced audio processing, all under the control of the user’s preferred automation system. MediaDeck’s real-time graphic and branding technology simplifies workflows and accelerates deployment of channel chains, according to Omneon.

MediaDeck GX united three key components of a typical channel chain: the MediaDeck transmission platform, branding and master control module and template-based graphics software. When deployed in a customer’s environment, MediaDeck GX operates under the control of the broadcaster’s choice of automation software.

Also at the show, Omneon will highlight four new MediaPort modules for Omneon Spectrum and MediaDeck server systems that extend real-time codec support to facilitate flexible, cost-effective production and play-out of SD and HD content. The MediaPort 5400, 5500, 5600 and 6200/6300 Series all provide codec capabilities that support implementation of streamlined and economical workflows in bringing multiformat media to air. In addition Omneon will demonstrate a range of new features for MediaPort models, including scrub audio, improved jog/shuttle and still modes, and integrated real-time proxy generation as well as SD/HD simulcast that enable Omneon video servers to support fast-paced production environments.
