Network Electronics Unveils Modular Router
Network Electronics ASA debuted its VikinX.128 modular router concept at IBC 2002.

The VikinX.128 is a 128 x 128 modular router in a compact frame with hot-swappable architecture, a built-in, dual-redundant power supply and redundant controller functions.

Control through features like a TCP/IP interface and an SNMP agent and surveillance of the router's vital parameters can be performed via a GYDA controller. The router supports data rates from 19.4 Mbps to 540 Mbps in the SDI version and 19.4 Mbps to 1,485 Mbps in the HD-SDI version and includes a 128 x 128 analog audio router.

The VikinX.128 will be available in the second quarter of 2003.
