Miranda Releases Signal Analysis and Remote Monitoring Gear
Miranda Technologies has launched a family of network-based video and audio Probes for signal analysis and measurement and the Allégro range of streaming encoders/servers for remote confidence monitoring.

The Probes provide video and audio signal measurement and alarm profiling over an IP network, as well as real visual confidence monitoring through low-latency, low-bit-rate "thumbnail" and audio streaming. The thumbnails are variable-sized snapshots of video sent at a programmable refresh rate. Hundreds of parameters can be monitored, and alarms can be triggered in the event of a failure. The Probes can also provide VBI supervision, including the extraction and display of closed captioning, VITC and VCHIP information.

The Allégro streaming encoder/server range provides either one or four channels of real-time encoding for streaming video and audio over IP for confidence monitoring. The Allégro range may be remotely managed and controlled from a central location. The system is optimized for broadcast operations and integrates telemetry, such as signal presence, audio level metering and VBI extraction. The Allégro range operates with PAL/NTSC and SECAM video and provides a scalable video bit-rate based on frame size, frame rate and quality. The audio bit-rate is also scalable.
