Gefen Extends DVI at IBC
At IBC2008, Gefen will introduce two new extenders that allow users to transmit HD video at long distances via DVI.

The DVI FM-1000 sender/receiver system uses two small sender and receiver modules connected to a single strand of fiber optics SC-SC cable to deliver digital video up to 1 kilometer. Resolutions up to 1280x1024 are delivered at this distance with zero delay, making it highly effective for digital signage applications. Full HD resolutions up to 1920x1200 can be extended up to 300 meters in distance for remote displays.

The DVI-1600 HD is a plug and play optical DVI with audio and RS-232 extension system that can deliver 1920x1080p full HD resolution in the DVI format with digital audio and RS-232 control up to 300 meters. Fiber optics cabling links the sender to the receiver. The RS-232 connection enables other control systems to be seamlessly integrated.

Gefen will be in Stand 7.B31.
