Focus to Add Conversion Technology to FireStore
Campbell, Calif.-based Focus Enhancements plans to add DV conversion software to its FireStore DV disk recorder technology.

Focus has acquired the assets DVUnlimited, a Budapest, Hungary-based developer of conversion software. Attila Mezei, founder and president of DVUnlimited, will join Focus immediately. The software will be integrated into Focus' Direct to Edit (DTE) Technology equipment series, including the FireStore DV Disk Recorder.

In addition to complementing FireStore, DVUnlimited's software includes support for files acquired with other non-DTE-compliant recording or mixing products. DVUnlimited's software converts files to the necessary NLE file formats after acquisition either on a capture station or PC.
