Focus Rolls Out HD Portable DTE Recorder
Focus Enhancements will demo its news FireStore FS-4 HD and FS-4Pro HD portable direct-to-edit recorders.

Firestore now records pure HD steams via FireWire from Sony HDV and JVC HD camcorders and decks. The DTE connects to Mac or PC notebooks or desktops, enabling users to edit directly from the FS-4.

Both Firestore models work in SD DV25 mode as well as in HD mode. In DV25 mode, users can record in any of the supported file formats and HD enables 480p, 720p or 1080i MPEG2 transport streams to be recorded and sent for immediate use in NLEs.

The Firestore, developed by the Campbell, Calif.-based video production manufacturer, is designed for HD-driven uses including live events, news and sports.

The FS-4 HD is currently shipping and the Pro version will ship at the end of March.

Focus will be in Booth SL505, SL4255E.
