Archion Showcases New 'Synergy Plus' at NAB2006
Archion Technologies will showcase its newest storage system, "Synergy Plus," during NAB2006. Synergy Plus is specially designed to expand and enhance the existing Avid Unity storage system, transforming it from a mirroring software platform to a hardware RAID-based system.

Synergy Plus hardware includes Medianetwork 4.1, a full-featured SATA II to FC Raid storage unit designed for networking digital video systems. The system comes in units from 4 to 8 TB and up, with 2 ports of 2GB FC, and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS 9, X and Tiger, Linux, and UNIX.

Synergy Plus offers Unity users hardware RAID protection within a Unity environment, adding significant data storage expansion, without doubling the expense of mirroring the storage for protection.

An early user of the new "Synergy Plus" product is Cincinnati, Ohio-based post-production facility Red Echo Post.

"When we were looking to update our Avid Unity system, Archion Synergy Plus was an easy decision to make. Synergy Plus gave us more storage for the dollar and RAID protection that is not available with Avid storage," said Red Echo Post Owner Craig Tyree. "The Synergy Plus integration into our system was flawless. When you have three edit rooms, two graphics/animation rooms, and a DVD authoring station all connected to one storage system, it has to be dependable. Archion's Synergy Plus met that objective for us."

Archion will be in Booth SL1003.
