Thales Unveils ATSC-Supported PEARL PSIP Suite

January 14, 2005
The Thales PEARL PSIP product suite now supports ATSC A/76 Program Metatdata Communications Protocol (PMCP).

PEARL is built on a 1RU PC server platform and has an XML interface and comes in two varieties. One configuration is a stand-alone version with ASI output to any multiplexer and the other configuration is the "smart data pack." The "smart data pack" uses the Thales Amber remultiplexer that works as a standalone PSIP injector and carouseling device. PEARL also comes with an editor for updates to the EPG information. Optionally, users may use up to 16 days of EIT/ETT tables, multi-route functionality for station groups and multi-source management.
